Placentia Bay Veterans Cenotaph (Town Square)

The Cenotaph’s purpose is to commemorate the sacrifices made in war by the men and women of the former and existing communities in Placentia Bay. It also commemorates the 100th anniversaries of World War I, such as the Battle of Beaumont Hamel in 2016, and the 75th anniversaries of World War II. As well, it commemorates the sacrifices made by Placentia Bay residents in the Korean Conflict, and in Peacekeeping around the world to the current day.
