The Placentia Court House was built in 1902, with help from W.J. Ellis, the same man who built the O’Reilly House in the same year. It holds one of the oldest court rooms in the country, and although the bottom level of the court house holds mainly offices for Eastern Health staff, the court room on the top floor is still occasionally used.
